How to Request an Accurate Pallet Quote
Complete information allows suppliers to price the right pallet, transportation and schedule the first time. Use this checklist for one-time or recurring purchases.
Product specifications
- Length × width and overall height.
- New, used, recycled, plastic, metal or other material.
- Grade or acceptable repair condition.
- Stringer, block or skid construction.
- Two-way or four-way entry.
- Heat-treatment and marking requirements.
- Load weight, racking or automation conditions.
Order volume and timing
State the quantity per delivery, expected weekly or monthly demand, required first-delivery date and whether the program is temporary or ongoing. Forecasts help suppliers plan cores, lumber, production and trucks.
Delivery and receiving details
Provide the complete delivery ZIP code, receiving hours, appointment procedure, dock type and vehicle restrictions. Note whether a liftgate, straight truck, pallet jack or special access is required.
Freight can materially change delivered pricing, especially for small quantities or nonstandard sizes.
Review the quote carefully
Confirm the unit price, freight, taxes, minimum quantity, lead time, grade definition, payment terms and validity period. For recurring programs, confirm how rejected pallets, quantity changes and emergency orders will be handled.
